Boil Water Advisory for some Scottsburg Residents

boil-water-advisory

The City of Scottsburg has issued a Boil Water Advisory, which is in effect until further notice, following a water main break on S. Lake Road North that occurred on January 28, 2026.

City officials advise residents in the affected areas to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, and food preparation until the advisory is officially lifted. Boiling water for at least one minute helps ensure it is safe for use. (See this page from the CDC for further guidance on what to do during a boil water advisory!)

The boil advisory applies to water customers in the following areas:

  • West of I-65 to Whippoorwill Lane

  • North of Highway 56 to Weir Road

  • South of Highway 56 from Beatrice Avenue to I-65

Crews are actively working to address the water main break, and the City of Scottsburg will provide updates as more information becomes available. Once testing confirms the water supply is safe, the boil advisory will be lifted and residents will be notified.

We will continue to share updates as they are released. Residents are encouraged to stay alert for further announcements regarding the status of the advisory.
